This list of pre primer sight words is ready to print and includes the 40 basic words that are taught in preschool and Kindergarten.
Most sight words are high-frequency words, or common words that do not follow regular spelling patterns. These words are more difficult to decode or sound out, so they are learned by seeing the word.
The first set of words are called pre-primer, pre-K, or preschool sight words and are taught along with phonics in an early reading curriculum to help kids build reading fluency.
